Clarksburg, Maryland is located in upper Montgomery County along the I-270 corridor, approximately 23 miles north of the Washington, DC city limits.

According to the latest census data, it is the most rapidly-growing community in Montgomery County percentage-wise, with a population approaching 14,000 residents. This growth has occurred within the last ten years, as homeowners have flocked to the many newly-built communities in the area.

There is a retail center at Highlands at Clarksburg, which includes a sandwich shop, dry cleaners, a pizza restaurant, a beer and wine store, a UPS store, and medical offices. More retail is planned for Clarksburg Village and Clarksburg Town Center.

Additional shopping and restaurants are found at the Milestone Center, located just south of Clarksburg.

Milestone Center includes: Target, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, Best Buy, PetSmart, Borders, Staples, TJ Maxx, Kohl’s, Giant Food, and other specialty stores nearby.
